May 2, 1943 – January 30, 2016

Vicki Partipilo, comforted by her loving family, passed away peacefully after a two-year struggle with cancer.

Vicki was a beloved mother, nana, sister, and friend. She was the second of five children born to Rudy and Dorothy Partipilo in Milwaukie, Oregon, and graduated from Milwaukie High School. She married Doug Bridwell in 1963, and they had three daughters. Together, they owned and operated the Creekside Restaurant in Milwaukie. They moved to Bend in 1970.

Vicki married Geoff Hill in 1972, and he adopted her three girls. She joined Geoff in his advertising business and together they founded Sun Publishing. They published Cascades East magazine for thirty years. Vicki was a charter member of the first Quota Club of Bend, volunteered for Ronald McDonald House and the SMART reading program and was chosen as a “2001 Business Woman of the Year” by Cascades Business News.

Vicki enjoyed many vacations in Hawaii, loving the Hawaiian culture. For more than 20 years, she was a snowbird to their second home in the Palm Springs area. She enjoyed camping, fishing, golf, walking, reading, music and dance. She took ballet as a child and as an adult was a hula dancer. Oh, and you should see her do the flea hop! Vicki loved spending time with her girls and their families.

Survivors include her mother, Dorothy; daughters, Kari Horyza (Tom), Kelli Horyza (Steve Danford), Kim Hogue (Dave); brothers, Terry (Willi) and Randy (Jo); sisters, Corki Christiansen (Stan) and Patti DeShields (Don); ten grandchildren, Emilee, Kimberli, Beau, Ciara, Dylan, Nicole, Kyle, Danielle, Spencer and Tommy; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and loving companion, Tom Lowe. Each of us will lose a part of ourselves, but all of our lives have been immeasurably enriched by knowing Vicki.

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 12, at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary in Scottsdale, Arizona.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 9808 N. 95th St., Scottsdale, AZ 85258.
