Jean Seidel of Bend, OR, peacefully passed away into the hands of her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 29, 2016. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016, 11:00 AM at Foundry Church, located at 60 NW Oregon St. in Bend, OR.
Jean was born on September 26, 1918, in Chicago, IL, to Hugh and Blanche (Eddy) Britton. After World War II, Jean married her husband, Emil Seidel, and moved to Westchester, CA, near Los Angeles.
Jean loved to be involved in her community. She was a charter member of P.E.O. Chapter QB, and a charter member of Chapter EN of Bend, belonged to the Womans Club, Westchester Mental Health Guild, numerous bridge clubs, and was always involved in the schools PTA. In 1971, Emil and Jean retired and moved to the Fall River area near Bend. Jean went back to work in real estate at Sunriver Realty, retired a second time, and then moved into Bend. Jean had a great love for playing bridge. She cherished her family and friends, and was always a loving and caring mother.
Jean is survived by her loving daughter, Cathy Seidel of Bend, OR; son, Chuck Seidel of Sacramento, CA; and granddaughter, Emily Seidel of San Francisco, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Seidel; both of her parents, Hugh and Blanche (Eddy) Britton; and her aunt, Faye Voltz.
