The proposed Fred Meyer on Bend’s north side would become the chain’s second store in the city, if it’s built, according a spokesman from Portland-based company, which is a division of The Kroger Co.
The new store is part of a proposed project on 51 acres along U.S. Highway 20 between Cooley Road and Robal Lane. The proposal calls for a Fred Meyer store, a hotel, senior housing and other multifamily housing. Powell Development Co., the Kirkland, Washington-based developer of the project, filed a preliminary application with the city of Bend in January.
