CHICAGO — McDonald’s is altering its McPick 2 promotion to add some of its more expensive menu items, drawing ire on social media.
The world’s largest burger chain said it will, for the first time, put the Big Mac, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, Filet-O-Fish and Quarter Pounder with Cheese on a national value menu, offering two choices for $5. That deal will be available nationwide starting Monday but is already available in some restaurants.
The 2-month-old McPick 2 promotion began as a 2-for-$2 deal, which is leading some to take to Twitter to complain about the higher price. The 2-for-$2 deal offers the choice of a double cheeseburger, a small fry, a McChicken or mozzarella sticks.
The new McPick 2 menu will also be available for a limited time, and McDonald’s didn’t say how long it would last.
