OGDEN, Utah — Bend’s Emma Maaranen won the women’s pro division of the USA Cycling Fat Bike Nationals Saturday at Powder Mountain Resort.

Maaranen finished the 18-mile course in 1 hour, 38 minutes, 27 seconds. Porsha Murdock, also of Bend, finished fourth among the pro women in 1:57:15.

Bend’s Colonel Reynolds finished 16th in the men’s master 50-59 age group in 1:15:25.

The course for the second-year event was staged across Powder Mountain’s snow-covered Hidden Lake area terrain. Fatbikes feature wider-than-normal mountain bike tires for traction in the snow.

The 2017 nationals will be staged in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
