Donald L. Uppendahl

Donald L. Uppendahl was born in Springfield, CO, and grew up in Kansas.

After earning his BA from University of Colorado he married Margarette Wohl and they moved to Portland, OR, where they raised their family.

Don taught at Washington HS and PCC where he retired as Dean of Business and Industry. He served in the US Army and Reserve and retired as Colonel.

Don enjoyed many hobbies: traveling, running, cooking, gardening and wine making to name a few. An avid outdoorsman he climbed several Cascade peaks.

Don and Margarette moved to Bend, in 1999, where he lovingly cared for her as she battled Alzheimer’s. Don believed in helping others and volunteered at The High Desert Museum, Habitat for Humanity, and St. Charles Hospital. He attended Nativity Lutheran Church.

On Feb. 11, Don passed away peacefully with his daughters at his bedside. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

His wife, Margarette preceded him in death. He is survived by daughters, Carol Haffar,

Sue Takemoto, Rebecca Little, Mary (David) Dona; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
