The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Secure Shred and NeighborImpact will host a free shredding event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The event will take place at the Sheriff’s Office, 63333 W. U.S. Highway 20.

The public can shred up to four medium-size boxes of personal documents for free at the event, which is not for business or company disposal.

The Sheriff’s Office will also collect prescription medication that is either out of date or no longer wanted; no needles or over-the-counter drugs are accepted.

NeighborImpact will be on hand to collect donations of nonperishable food for its food bank.
