Monthly home prices up in Bend, down in Redmond

The median price for a single-family home in Bend rose 4.7 percent last month over January, according to a report released Monday, while the median price in Redmond fell 11 percent from January to February.

Year over year, however, both cities saw increases in median price.

Bend’s median price rose to $332,000 in February, or $15,000 above the median price in January, according to The Beacon Report. Last month’s median was about 12 percent higher than the median price for a single-family home in Bend in February 2015, according to the report from the Beacon Appraisal Group.

The median price equals the midpoint, with half the prices above it and half below.

Bend recorded 127 home sales last month, 33 fewer than in January and seven more than in February 2015.

In Redmond, the median single-family-home price reached $225,000 last month, $25,000 lower than in January. February’s median price, however, was 9.2 percent higher than the median price in February 2015, according to the report.

Redmond recorded 53 home sales last month, 16 more than in January, and the same as the number sold in February 2015, according to The Beacon Report.
