A Lake County family is taking over the High Lakes Feed business being displaced by new construction in La Pine.
The store, which also includes a U-Haul dealer, will move by month’s end to a new, larger home on Huntington Road adjacent to Bi-Mart, said Cheryl Riddle, the store owner. The Weaver family, son Chris, of Redmond, and his parents, William and Katherine, of Silver Lake, plan on taking ownership of the business in the coming weeks. They plan to keep the business as is with one exception, a slight name change to Weaver’s High Lakes Feed.
Riddle said she decided to sell the shop she’s owned since 2012 when the property owners, Brewer & Brewer Inc., of Lane County, asked her to vacate. A Corvallis developer, Dickerhoof Properties, has plans to build a 27,000-square-foot retail shopping center on the site.
The new Weaver’s High Lakes Feed location will be at least twice the size of the existing business, Chris Weaver said Friday.
