All-league basketball teams named — Thirteen players were named to girls and boys basketball all-league teams last week, including five Sisters boys players. Junior guard Keagan Greaney was selected to the Sky-Em League first team for the Outlaws, while senior guard Steen Johnson was named to the second team. Senior guard Hayes Moore, senior post Scott Waddell and junior post Tyler Head each received honorable mention for Sisters. In the Tri-Valley Conference, Crook County senior guard Blake Bartels was named to the boys first team, senior post Seth Kessi was chosen to the second team, and senior guard Garrett Harper received honorable mention. Madras senior posts Sean LeRiche and Bryce Rehwinkle were each selected to the all-TVC second team, and senior wing Austin Rauschenburg received honorable mention. Sisters senior guard Olivia Stewart was named to the girls Sky-Em first team, and senior post Nina Horner received honorable mention.

Summit grads on to nationals — Summit High graduates Isabella Barna and Tristan Krueger each qualified for the NCAA fencing championships. Barna, a Duke senior competing in women’s epee, and Krueger, a Stanford freshman competing in men’s epee, will compete beginning Thursday in Waltham, Massachusetts. The top 24 fencers in each of the six categories qualified for the national championships.
