Richard ‘Dick’ L. Carpenter

Richard Dick L. Carpenter died March 24, 2016 at Hospice House in Bend, Oregon. He was born on July 25, 1933 in Garibaldi, Oregon.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Libby) Carpenter, three daughters – Brenda Moorhead and husband, Jim of Bend, Glenda Ruiz and husband, Ron of Redmond, and Margaret Beth Grundy and husband, Shawn of Las Vegas, seven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.

Dick served four years in the air force, then received a bachelors degree from the University of Oregon and a Masters degree from Portland State University.

He began his career as a teacher and then was a high school principal. He retired from the Bend/La Pine school district in 1990 after 31 years in education.

Memorial services will be held at Willamette National Cemetery at a later date.
