Walk 5k to cure Type 1 diabetes on April 18, starting at 2 p.m. in Drake Park.

Currently, there is no cure for Type 1 Diabetes and all proceeds from the walk will benefit JDRF — a global organization funding Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) research in an effort to help the millions of children, adults and families affected by the disease. JDRF is the largest funding organization for Type 1 Diabetes research.

As of Friday, the organization had raised $23,462 of its $68,124 goal for the Bend chapter fundraiser.
