Bethlehem Inn’s recycling redemption program will soon move to the Brightside Animal Shelter.

Bethlehem Inn, a Bend-based emergency shelter, began its program six years ago during the recession. The shelter began the program as a way to provide a source of income for those using the facility.

Brightside Animal Shelter, located at 1355 NE Hemlock Ave. in Redmond, agreed to take over the program. Beginning on May 1, Brightside will locate trailers for collecting recyclables at the Bethlehem Inn. The trailers will be at the Bethlehem Inn through July before transitioning to their new location.
