Bend man arrested after attempted assault with firearm

A Bend man who police said fired a handgun at another man early Sunday has been arrested, according to Bend Police.
In a news release, the department said officers were called to 20685 Tango Creek Ave. in Bend shortly before 6 a.m., where neighbors had reported an fight between two men and a shot fired.

Police spoke with Guillermo Reyes, 23, a resident of the address. He said that a 22-year-old man had refused to leave his residence, and that in the ensuing altercation, the man had fired a shot at Reyes. Reyes was not struck, and the suspect fled in a car.
Shortly after noon, officers found a car belonging to the suspect, Edgar Puta Castro, parked at the Ariel Glen Apartments on Southeast Tempest Drive. Just after 3 p.m., Castro came out of an apartment at the complex and was taken in to custody.
Castro was booked in the Deschutes County Jail on suspicion of first-degree attempted assault, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, fourth-degree assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and second-degree disorderly conduct.
