The Miller Tree Farm recently donated 36 pine logs to the Deschutes Children’s Foundation’s East Bend Campus to help transform the campus’ existing playgrounds into Nature Playscapes.

Nature Playscapes are inspired by nature and designed to help “introduce children to the outdoor world,” a press release from the foundation said. The Foundation is in the midst of a capital campaign to raise funds to transform playgrounds at the foundation’s East Bend Campus, Becky Johnson Community Center and La Pine Community Campus.

The logs came from a new housing development, The Tree Farm, located off Skyliners Road west of the city. The development, which will consist of 50 two-acre sites, is expected to be completed over the summer, with sites available for sale in the fall, according to the release.
