– Colonel Billie E. Lauderback, Retired USAR, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 28, 2016, at his residence in Bend, OR. Colonel Lauderback was 99 years old and was a native Oregonian.
He was a decorated World War II veteran who served in the Southwest Pacific. He later manufactured Sea Ski water skis and spent his life in the water recreation industry.
Colonel Lauderback is survived by his companion, LaDonna; son, Daniel (Nancy); daughters, Janine, Laurie and Holly; grandson, Travis (Janaee); granddaughter, Anna (Marty); two great-granddaughters, Alexia and Adisyn; great-grandson, Simon; and his beloved dog, Dixie Belle.
Burial is planned for Thursday, May 12, 2016, 12:30 pm at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Celebration of Life will be held after the burial at 3:00 pm. Location is the High Rocks restaurant, 915 E. Arlington, Gladstone.
