COAR Announces REALTOR® of the Year

A cross-country move from Georgia to Bend back in 1974 brought Jaynee Beck and her family to Central Oregon, a place she has always been proud to call home. A principal broker with Keller Williams, Beck was recently named the Realtor of the Year by the Central Oregon Association of Realtors (COAR), an honor that both caught her off guard and filled her with gratitude.

“I was surprised and very thankful. I have always been involved with my association and I feel it’s important to give back to the profession that takes such good care of me,” said Beck. “It feels great to have my peers recognize the efforts I put into our business. And hopefully it will inspire someone new to get involved.”

Such gracious words from Beck come as no surprise to Dave Feagans, president of COAR, who refers to this year’s award winner as “the amazing Jaynee Beck.”

“The reason Jaynee was handily awarded the Realtor of the Year this year is for her many, many years of ongoing service to our realtors association locally,” said Feagans. “She has been on — or chaired — almost every committee that we have in the industry here, she has served on the state and local level for many years, and in addition to that she is a successful realtor representing many buyers and sellers over the years.”

Beck received her license in 1992 after an encounter with a local realtor opened her eyes to the possibility of a career in real estate.

“I was in copier sales and upon closing a deal with Steve Scott — then of Manzanita Properties — he said he thought I should be in the real estate business,” said Beck. “I explored the idea and, well, 23 years later here I am.”

Beck enjoys the dynamic, ever-evolving and challenging nature of the real estate industry and takes great satisfaction in helping people find exactly what they are looking for.

“It’s never boring, you learn something new every day, and it’s always changing,” said Beck. “I also love working with people and helping make their dreams come true.”

Her love of Central Oregon infuses her work, and Beck is an excellent ambassador for the region.

“I believe I live in paradise, so Bend is a pretty easy sell,” said Beck.

With all of her family in Central Oregon — most have settled in the La Pine area — Beck has deep roots in the area. Together with her family, she enjoys many outdoor activities including skiing, playing tennis, kayaking, hiking, floating the river, snowshoeing, camping and pretty much any activity that involves fresh air. She might occasionally be lured away to enjoy relaxing somewhere on a sunny beach, but Central Oregon is where her heart is.

“I love living in Central Oregon and I love my profession,” said Beck. “I also feel very lucky to belong to the Central Oregon Association of Realtors. We have an amazing staff and they make volunteering easy and productive.”

“Jaynee is one of the peers in our industry that everyone looks up to, respects, and is able to call and ask questions of,” said Feagans. “She is gracious with her time and expertise and she has been an inspirational leader for our association.”
