Larry Hilscher of Bend, Oregon, passed away on May 12, 2016. He was born in Wenatchee, Washington, to Aubrey and Ruth Hilscher and graduated from Whitman College with a degree in Economics.

He lived in the Seattle area until moving to Portland. Larry was stationed in the US Army and spent most of his time overseas from 1959 until 1963. While in Portland he met Judith Higbee, and they were married November 7, 1992.

They relocated to Bend in 2002, to be near family and to enjoy the Central Oregon lifestyle. Larry was an avid bicyclist, and Larry and Judy enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach.

Larry is survived by his wife, Judith; daughter, Hayden Ghaffary; stepsons, TJ Higbee, Justin (Katie) Higbee, and Travis Higbee; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. A Celebration of Life with military honors will be held at a later date.
