Bend median home price rose in May

The median price for a single-family home in Bend rose 2.5 percent last month over April, according to a report released Monday, while the median price in Redmond fell 0.8 percent over the previous month.

Both cities, however, saw increases in median price year over year.

Bend’s median price rose to $374,000 in May, or $9,000 above the median price in April, according to The Beacon Report. Last month’s median was about 15 percent higher than the median price for a single-family home in Bend in May 2015, according to the report from the Beacon Appraisal Group.

The median price equals the midpoint, with half the prices above it and half below.

Bend recorded 243 home sales last month, 38 more than in April and 17 less than in May 2015.

In Redmond, the median price for a single-family home was $245,000 last month, $2,000 less than in April. May’s median price, however, was 1.2 percent higher than the median price in May 2015, according to the report.

Redmond recorded 82 home sales last month, 19 more than in April, and eight more than sold in May 2015, according to The Beacon Report.
