BLACK BUTTE RANCH — A pair of Pac-12 golfers shared the lead after the first round of the 107th Oregon Amateur Championship on Black Butte Ranch’s Glaze Meadow course Monday.
Oregon State junior Kevin Murphy, a two-time Class 6A state champion from Lake Oswego, and UCLA sophomore Cole Madey, from West Linn, are tied at 4-under-par 68. Bend amateur Justin Kadin is two strokes back in a three-way tie for third.
Just 12 of the 131-man field were under par. The low 64 players after today’s second round will advance to match play.

On the women’s side, Bend’s Madison Odiorne was alone in fifth after a 78, trailing two golfers, Eugene’s Jennifer Krause and Talent’s Daniele Giles by five shots, while recent Summit graduate Rachel Drgastin fired an 81 and is tied for 10th.
Awbrey Glen’s Rosie Cook shot 84 to tie for 15th, and Bend’s Sydney Mansour is 26th with a 110. All 26 women entered will advance to match play Wednesday.
