Kathy Roberts, a longtime resident of the Central Oregon community, passed away early on the morning of July 17, 2016, at Partners in Care in Bend, Oregon, at the age of 66.
Born in Anchorage, Alaska on April 23, 1950, Kathy was the first of six children born to Frank and Dixie Alston. After moving to Pendleton, Oregon, at the age of 15, she met her husband, Stephen W. She changed her career numerous times to work for stores such as Carter’s and Michael’s, while also volunteering as a Campfire leader for her three children.
After retiring in Bend, Kathy busied herself with her endless list of hobbies. She enjoyed crafting in all forms, getting lost in a good book, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dixie Alston, and her brother Marshall Alston. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Roberts; her three children: Michelle Timmons (Molalla, Oregon), Sherry and Craig Jones (Bend), and Stephen and Laurie Roberts (Bend); four of her siblings: Susan and Ron Klein (Pendleton), Alan Alston (Prescott, Arizona), Anne and John Orcutt (Boardman, Oregon), and Danny Alston (Hermiston, Oregon); and her grandchildren: Ashlee and Shawn Warner (Sacramento, California), Michael Timmons (Silverton, Oregon), McKenna Jones (Bend), Elizabeth Timmons (Silverton), Travis Lane (Portland, Oregon), Tyler Lane (Salem, Oregon), Emily Roberts (Bend), and Seth Roberts (Bend). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
