- The Bulletin file photoHumm Kombucha of Bend has signed a deal to sell its fermented tea in more than 1,500 Target stores nationwide.
Humm Kombucha is expanding its presence at CenturyLink Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks, the Bend-based fermented tea brewer announced Thursday.
The flavored kombucha tea will be available at two more locations in the stadium in the coming season. Humm will also be part of a marketing campaign in Washington Safeway stores, said Mike Beshore, Humm digital marketing manager.
Humm is brewing a kombucha, a mix of apple and berry juices and dubbed Blue Wave, for sale only in Washington, he said. Five healthy-choice vendors in the stadium will have Humm Kombucha in bottles, Beshore said.
Humm Kombucha partnered for a soft opening with the Seahawks last year as the first official kombucha for any NFL team, he said. He said Humm sales in Washington more than doubled as a result. This year, the agreement extends beyond the stadium to a Safeway promotion, Seahawks Shop and Score, in which customers may win game tickets and other Seahawks items, he said.
In March, Humm Kombucha co-founder Jamie Danek said the company had set a goal of selling its product at NFL stadiums.
Because if Humm Kombucha is there, she said, “we’re in America, and we want to be in America.”
