- Jarod Opperman / The BulletinConstruction continues last week on the 10 Barrel Brewing Co. expansion on NE 18th Street in Bend.
Owner: Basalt Lot 5 LLC
General Contractor: CS Construction, Bend
Architect: Scott Edwards Architecture, Portland
Engineer: LB Engineering Inc.
Details: 10 Barrel Brewing Co. will more than double the size of its northeast Bend production headquarters with a project that’s slated to be complete in April.
Concrete was poured, and the first walls started going up last week on the 67,500-square-foot facility that will include production, warehouse, office and restaurant space, said Sara Mishalanie, marketing manager for Bend-based general contractor CS Construction. A city building permit valued the project at $6.9 million.
The majority of the new addition, about 48,000 square feet, will be devoted to brewing beer and storing the finished product, according to plans on file with the city. The restaurant and patio might be of more interest to northeast-side residents because of its location in a light industrial zone between two residential areas off Boyd Acres and Butler Market roads, Mishalanie said.
“It’s going to be a cool spot for people to hit for lunch because there’s not a lot over there,” she said.
The restaurant and outdoor patio will cover about 5,600 square feet, according to plans filed with the city. A 10 Barrel representative could not be reached for more information about the restaurant.
The Anheuser-Busch-owned craft brewer already has pubs on the west side of Bend and in Boise, Idaho, and Portland. 10 Barrel plans to open a 10,000-square-foot brewpub in Denver this fall and is working on a similar-size brewpub in San Diego that could open in early 2017.
