The owners of the Oxford Hotel in Bend have donated $500,000 to OSU-Cascades for an endowed faculty scholar position in its recently launched hospitality management program, the university announced Tuesday.
Robin and Curt Baney own the Oxford Suites properties in California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. The donation will establish the Robin and Curt Baney Faculty Scholar Fund for Teaching Excellence in Hospitality Management.
Hospitality students at OSU-Cascades study business management, service delivery, food and beverage operations, technology and entrepreneurship.
It is the only bachelor’s degree program in hospitality management in Oregon.
Todd Montgomery, who joined OSU-Cascades as an instructor in 2013 and helped launch the program in 2015, will serve as the first Robin and Curt Baney Faculty Scholar for Teaching Excellence in Hospitality Management.
This is the second endowed faculty position at the campus. The other is in energy engineering management.
