McMenamins Old St. Francis School has a full day of music, Irish and otherwise, planned for its annual Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day celebration Saturday (not that this town ever needed an excuse to drink and dance). The party kicks off at O’Kanes at noon with Cascade Highland Piper and continues all day with sets from local Irish rockers Five Pint Mary, Portland folkie Hip Hatchet and New Jersey songstress Heather Maloney — whose third album, the rock-tinged “Making Me Break,” dropped last year. Meanwhile, local fiddler Roland White — aka Fiddlplay — will perform around the Old St. Francis School grounds from 4 to 7 p.m. As always, the music is free.
Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day with Heather Maloney, Hip Hatchet, Five Pint Mary, Cascade Highland Piper, Fiddlplay: noon to 8 p.m. Saturday; free; McMenamins Old St. Francis School, 700 NW Bond St., Bend; mcmenamins.com or 541-382-5174.
