Buehler ads are misleading
As lifelong Democrats, we are disappointed by Republican Knute Buehler’s latest deceptive television commercial. Our representative is a nice enough guy, but there are a couple things he’s not — a moderate, or independent.
Buehler’s ad would have you believe that he’s supported by Democratic, environmental and women’s health advocates in Bend, but that’s so incomplete as to be misleading. The Sierra Club and Oregon League of Conservation Voters have both endorsed his opponent, Gena Goodman-Campbell. She’s endorsed by Planned Parenthood PAC of Oregon. The Deschutes Democrats, along with leaders like Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden and former Gov. Barbara Roberts all endorse Goodman-Campbell.
On issue after issue, Buehler’s votes in the Legislature reveal the truth — he overwhelmingly votes with Republican leadership, not with the people of Bend.
Buehler voted against helping workers by opposing earned sick leave and a modest increase in the minimum wage. He voted against giving cities like Bend the tools they need to add affordable housing.
He voted not once, but twice, against common-sense gun safety measures that would make it harder for criminals and domestic abusers to get guns. He voted to repeal a long-standing measure that helps ensure clean air in our state. The new Motor Voter law that has registered more than 300,000 Oregonians? A no-vote on that too.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion; that is what is great about our democracy. But these Democrats aren’t buying the fraud. Buehler does not share our values.
That’s why we’re voting for Goodman-Campbell, the right choice for Bend House District 54.

Vote Henderson for county commission
The present Deschutes County Commission chairman has failed to provide the critical thinking needed to lead in correcting major issues and approving quality of life problems here in Central Oregon.
Phil Henderson, a candidate on the November ballot, has the vision to change the status quo. A graduate of Yale University and the University of Oregon law school, Henderson practiced law for 14 years before he started a home-building company in Bend. His priorities are:
• Challenge state land use regulation; bureaucrats in Salem should not control how we use our county land.
• Improve the ability of middle class families to buy homes by reviewing regulations and fees.
• Devise a long-term transportation plan to relieve traffic congestion.
• Implement a top-down financial review of all county departments to ensure taxpayer money is spent wisely.
Henderson is results oriented, a good listener and will do what is best for county residents. Vote Phil Henderson for Deschutes County Commission.

Support Trump
Watching television, movies and listening to the news media, you might feel we are living in the back streets of America, between Bill Clinton — who is not even running for president — and Hillary Clinton, who has made Donald Trump a sex machine from the past.
We are better than this. Subject being who is going to be our next president? Hillary Clinton has had a trail following her corruption for a long time. People may doubt what you say, but they will always believe what you do. A lot of people mistake a short memory for a clear conscience. Sorry Hillary! However, it is we the people who have put them up for election. If you are worried about our children and country — yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not yet come, only “today” folks — let’s begin new. Vote Republican for Donald Trump.

Vote for Kepple and Switzer
Todd Kepple is well known in Klamath County for many good reasons. He was a reporter for the Herald and News, causing him to be aware of what was happening and always reporting it factually. He is now the director of all three museums — Fort Klamath, Baldwin Hotel and the Klamath County Museum on Main Street. He is definitely not a 9-to-5 worker. He reviews lots of history, conducts tours of the city cemetery and organizes special events such as night sky viewing. He knows our county. He will do an outstanding job as our state senator.
Al Switzer, former Klamath County commissioner, is experienced and will make a good state representative.
Please join me and vote for Todd Kepple and Al Switzer.
