Oregon Eclipse heading to Big Summit Prairie in August

Festival season is barely over, but Central Oregon is already seeing announcements for next summer. The Oregon Eclipse festival will celebrate the first total solar eclipse viewable from the U.S. since 1979 at Big Summit Prairie, about two hours outside of Bend, from Aug. 17 to 23. A momentous natural event calls for a momentous musical event, and this festival looks set to deliver just from the international pedigree of its parents: Bass Coast Festival (Canada), Envision Festival (Costa Rica), Ometeotl (Mexico), Origin (South Africa), Noisily (U.K.), Rainbow Serpent (Australia), Re:birth (Japan), Symbiosis (California) and Universo Parallelo (Brazil). Though no artists have been announced yet, you can grab early-bird tickets beginning at 11:11 a.m. Nov. 3 if you’re feeling brave. Early-bird tickets cost $289 plus fees, and will go on sale at oregoneclipse2017.com. Expect more info, including artist announcements, in the coming months.
