Halloween is here, and local music venues are set to get spooky. Not that it’s ever a challenge to scare up some good live music in Bend, but here are some highlights so you don’t get caught after dark with nowhere to go:

• Bend’s favorite blues-rocking power trio Jive Coulis will drop its new studio album “Dinner Time” at a Halloween bash at Silver Moon Brewing on Friday. The $10 ticket price includes a download of the new album. The show starts at 9 p.m. Visit silvermoonbrewing.com or call 541-388-8331 for more information.

• Halloween in Sisters wouldn’t be complete without David Jacobs-Strain’s swinging, slide-fueled swamp rock. His band the Crunk Mountain Boys will once again bring its Halloween Extravaganza to The Belfry, starting at 8 p.m. Friday. Tickets cost $17 plus fees in advance or $20 at the door. Visit belfryevents.com.

• If ghosts and ghouls get you headbanging rather than toe-tapping, Third Street Pub can oblige. Washington grindcore quintet The Drip headlines Coma Booking and Promotions’ Halloween Bash at 7 p.m. Saturday, with fellow heavies Wvrm, Waft, Abiosis, Gravewitch and Scissor Hash rounding out the bill. Tickets are $6 at the door and the show is ages 21 and older. Visit the event page at facebook.com/events/1086852024728365 for more information.

• Portland’s hip-hop/jam/funk hybrid Dirty Revival, another regular in town, returns to McMenamins Old St. Francis School on Saturday. The bash also features a late-night set from DJ Bad Habit. Music starts at 8 p.m. and like all McMenamins shows, this one is free. Visit mcmenamins.com.

• There’s even more Halloween fun headed to Volcanic Theatre Pub after the Three Days of Funkenstein. Bend’s own Keez & Co, featuring singer-songwriter-keyboardist extraordinaire Brad Jones, headlines a costume party (prizes included) at the venue Halloween night, starting at 9 p.m. The band recently solidified its lineup, and its jam-filled funk, soul and R&B set was one of the highlights of Bend Roots Revival. Tickets cost $7 plus fees in advance or $10 at the door. Visit volcanictheatrepub.com or call 541-323-1881.

• Here’s one for the ski bums: The annual Pray for Snow show, put on by the folks at Rise Up Presents (Bend Roots Revival, Church of Neil, et al.), is also a Halloween ball this year. This free event, which takes place at Broken Top Bottle Shop beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, features groove rockers Victory Swig. Costumes are encouraged, and families are welcome. Visit btbsbend.com or call 541-728-0703.
