Nancy Evelyn Vaughn, 83, passed away February 3, 2017, at her home in College Place, WA. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 The Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362.

Nancy was born to Charles and Irma (Morgan) Britton in Washita, Oklahoma on June 23, 1933. She was an Anadarko High School, Oklahoma graduate. Nancy married Gary Lee Vaughn on March 13, 1951 in Wichita Falls, Texas; she became a devoted career military wife. Nancy was a homemaker from Alaska to Germany and many states in between; she also had some various other jobs along her journey.

Nancy loved her family, she especially loved visiting them, and she loved people, she was very sociable and had a good sense of humor. She enjoyed reading, craftwork, fresh flowers, fried okra, and keeping up with the news and current events. Nancy felt that her faith in Christianity and attending church was important.

Nancy is survived by four daughters; Paula Nolte, Pamela Wright, Susan Vaughn, Shelley Marks, three sons; Phillip Vaughn, Perry Vaughn, Stephen Vaughn, three sisters; Kathy Kawaleski, Carol Gravitte, Beth Witt, two brothers; Jed Britton, Terry Britton, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary; daughter, Patricia; brother, Jerry; and sister, Imojene.
