Riff addicts the world over are starting to take notice of Boston’s Gozu. Last summer, the doom-y four-piece band released its third album, “Revival,” full of barreling grooves, dark jams and melodic vocals courtesy of frontman Marc Gaffney. That record helped land the group its second European tour (with Portland’s Holy Grove) and a spot on Metal Blade Records imprint Blacklight Media. Gozu, whose resume also includes songs featured on NASCAR and MTV, kicks this year off with a West Coast tour with another band of Portland friends, Ape Machine, whose mix of classic ’70s sounds and modern sludge rock can be heard on the 2015 live record “Live at Freak Valley.” The tour will headbang its way to Volcanic Theatre Pub on Tuesday.

Gozu and Ape Machine: 9 p.m. Tuesday; $8 plus fees in advance, $10 at the door; Volcanic Theatre Pub, 70 SW Century Drive, Bend; volcanictheatrepub.com or 541-323-1881.
