Wickiup Reservoir is a popular lake to fish during the spring in Central Oregon. On Wickiup, the hot early-season catch is kokanee. Anglers are allowed to harvest up to 30 kokanee per day. Most anglers jig or troll for kokanee, whose average size in Wickiup is a whopping 18 to 22 inches. Fishing for big brown trout is also common during spring on Wickiup. A former state record brown trout from Wickiup weighed 24 pounds, 14 ounces. Many anglers who fish for brown trout use lures or plugs that imitate baitfish. Other fish species in Wickiup include rainbow trout, brook trout and whitefish.

Directions: Take Forest Road 42 off of U.S. Highway 97 south of Bend. Turn toward Twin Lakes Resort and Wickiup Reservoir on Forest Road 4260.
