T.I. makes Bend debut

Much ink has been devoted to rapper T.I.’s law troubles (he spent time in prison on a federal gun charge, and released his 2010 album, “No Mercy,” while on an 11-month jail term for probation violation) and his beefs with other artists (Ludacris, Shawty Lo). So much, in fact, that it’s nearly overshadowed his formidable accomplishments as an artist. Since emerging in the late ’90s, the Atlanta MC, born Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., has helped pioneer the ominous, electronic-tinged Southern hip-hop style known as trap. In addition to his prolific recorded output (nine official studio albums plus a string of mixtapes and EPs), T.I. has written two novels and has acted in “Ant-Man,” “Entourage” and the 2016 remake of “Roots,” among others. T.I. makes his Bend debut on his Hustle Gang Tour, featuring new artists from his label Grand Hustle Records, on Tuesday at the Midtown Ballroom.

T.I. on the Hustle Gang Tour: 7 p.m. Tuesday; $35 plus fees in advance, $285 for Grand Hustle Package, $135 for Hustle Package (visit bendticket.com show page for details on VIP packages); Midtown Ballroom, 51 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend; redlightpro.com or 541-408-4329.
