No more noodles — Ajii Asian Kitchen has called it quits after just over six months in business. Owner and executive chef Joe Kim wrote on the web site last Thursday: “We pledged to serve high quality, fresh and locally sourced ingredients at an affordable price. After a trial period, we have concluded that it is simply not sustainable with our method of operation, and we did not want to lower the quality of food or increase the price.” Ajii specialized in Japanese-style ramen bowls. 320 SW Century Drive, Suite 410, Bend; ajiibend.com, 541-382-3335.
Beer and barbecue — The Suttle Lodge & Boathouse has announced a series of Wednesday night cookouts between June 14 and July 19. Between 5 and 8 p.m., outdoor barbecues (priced at $15) will feature different guest breweries (and one cidery) pouring seasonal releases. Bend’s Crux Fermentation Project will lead off the series next week. 13300 U.S. Highway 20, Sisters; thesuttlelodge.com, 541-638-7001.
