Dorothy Abruzzo Story passed away on July 4, 2017. She was born September 26, 1934, in Lynbrook, NY, to the late Ethel and Frederick Ludecker.

A former resident of Redmond, Mrs. Story worked at Central Oregon District Hospital from 1966 to 1974, when ill health forced her to retire. For years, she bowled with leagues at Premier Bowl. She was a life member of V.F. W. Post # 4108 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of The Cairo United Methodist Church and a Lady Shriner. Mrs. Story was a 1952 graduate of Cairo Central School, Cairo, NY, and returned there in 1988.

In 1989, she married a fellow classmate, Robert L. Story, who survives. She is also survived by her son, Fred (Carie) Abruzzo of Madras; daughter, Mary (Jon) Montague of Grants Pass; grandchildren, Tammy Smith of La Pine; Lance Montague, Melanee, (Sam) Lewis, and Greg (Alyce) Montague; five great-grandchildren, Tristin and Kylie Smith, Camberlee and Carmen Lewis, and Quinton Montague; her sister-in-law, Kathy Jurgens, and son-in-law, Tom (Sue) LeMatty. She is also survived by a stepdaughter, Lynn (Doug) Keidong and family; several nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her first husband, Frank Abruzzo 1969; son, Nick in 1978; daughter, Lena LeMatty in 2000; sister, Grace; brothers, Charley and Fred.

Funeral services were held at Richards Funeral Home, Cairo, NY, on Monday, July 10, 2017.
