Ian Boswell, a professional cyclist from Bend, is changing teams for the 2018 season, according to velonews.com.

After spending his first five years as a pro with Team Sky, Boswell will ride for Katusha in 2018.

According to the website, Boswell will support the Katusha team leaders, Slovenian Simon Spilak and Russian Ilnur Zakarin, and he will likely have more chances to ride for himself.

Boswell, a graduate of Bend’s Summit High School, finished fifth overall in the Tour of California in May, and he competed in the Giro d’Italia in 2016.

“I’m not a spring chicken anymore, I’m 26,” Boswell was quoted on velonews.com. “I’ve been at Sky for five years, wonderful years and I learned a lot, but I thought about what I need personally and professionally. I’ve been looking around.”
