Larry and Linda Hess, of Bend, will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary June 23.

The couple were married in 1962 in San Diego. They have four children, Darren Hess, of Bend, Brian Hess, of Portland, David (and Jenni) Hess, of Phoenix, Oregon, and Erin Hess, of Salem; and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Hess retired from his work as a teacher in 1996. He worked in Hemet, California, Fairbanks, Alaska, and in Bend for 23 years. Mrs. Hess also worked as a teacher, retiring in 2001. She was the secretary at Bear Creek Elementary School in Bend. Together the family would go cross-country skiing and camping and take road trips. Larry and Linda enjoy reading, playing games, gardening, traveling and visiting family and friends.

They have lived in Bend for 44 years.
