Beginning next week, the Bureau of Land Management will be remodeling its district office in Prineville, and closing its front desk to visitors in the process.

The bureau announced Wednesday that remodeling the office, located at 3050 NE 3rd St. in Prineville, will begin Monday. The project will include upgrades to make the office more energy efficient, and the existing carpet in the office will be replaced, according to a Bureau of Land Management news release.

During the remodeling project, which is expected to take several months, the district office’s front-desk staff will be stationed next door at the Ochoco National Forest headquarters, at 3160 NE 3rd St. The phone number for the front desk remains the same — 541-416-6700 — and staffers can escort visitors into the BLM building as needed for meetings, according to the release.
