Results from a feasibility study about the need for a new recreation facility in Redmond will be shared with the public on Tuesday.

The Redmond Area Park and Recreation District’s feasibility study focuses on the need for a new recreation center and upgrades to current facilities based on the public’s input. The study’s results will be shared at the park district’s meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Redmond Early Learning Center, 2105 W. Antler Ave.

Public input for the study was “fantastic,” said RAPRD executive director Katie Hammer. The feedback combined with research on industry standards brings clear results to the city of Redmond.

“Aquatics is at the top of the list, that was pretty much said loud and clear in the conversations,” Hammer said.

The public also showed interest in separate pools, gymnasium and classroom space and an indoor walking track, Hammer said. The desire to preserve the existing recreation center is a priority as well, because it is “much loved and still very useful in the community.”

“I really want to encourage anyone with an opinion on what they want to see happen in a new facility or a current facility to call me or email me,” Hammer said. Feedback is still accepted.
