Teen feat
• Jesse Fishkin, of Troop 9025 in Bend, earned his Eagle Scout rank Sept. 14. He is the son of Dan and Laurel Fishkin. He spent more than 100 hours raising awareness of human trafficking through his Shadows of Hope project for Soroptimist International, a nonprofit that helps women and children of Central Oregon and throughout the world.

• Zachary L. Lusby, of Redmond, was named to the spring dean’s list for Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon.
School notes
• The Redmond Proficiency Academy student leadership team is sponsoring a week of service, Sept. 25-29, during the school lunch hour. The leadership has designed daily activities for all students as a way for the school to reach out to the Central Oregon community and those in need. This year’s lunch hour events include:
Monday : A coin and money drive for Hurricane Harvey relief victims and a Skype interview with a survivor of the hurricane.
Tuesday: Stuffing bags with supplies to ship to Texas to help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
Wednesday: Sign-making for local firefighters who continue to battle wildfires in Central Oregon and making signs for the construction crew that has made the school buildings safe.
Thursday: Clothing drive for the Bethlehem Inn, a local nonprofit that provides warm clothes and food to families and individuals during the winter months.
Friday: Lunch celebration with the construction crew and presentation of cards from students.
