Who: Sondra Holtzman’s acrylic paintings are on display at the Oxford Hotel until Oct. 25.

Bend native Sondra Holtzman is a painter who creates watercolor, acrylic, pastel and mixed media pieces of art. She works with recovered items to create many of her mixed media paintings. For example, she mixes the rust from old tools with tannic acid and applies the mixture to the canvas to enhance the color and texture. Holtzman attended the Rhode Island School of Design.
