Davis “Davey” Ann Hoey
June 9, 1935 – September 25, 2017
Davis “Davey” Ann Hoey of Bend, Oregon, died at home on September 25, 2017, from complications related to heart and Alzheimer’s disease.
Davey was born in Fargo, North Dakota, where she resided until the age of 10 when her family moved to Salinas, California. After graduating from high school, Davey went on to attend the University of California at Berkley, earning her bachelor’s degree in medical technology.
Davey worked in Sacramento, California, before getting married to her first husband, Charles, and taking time out to raise her three children, Brian, Cheryl and Ralph. The family spent a few years in Stockton, California, before settling in Napa, California, in 1968. Davey spent 19 years living in Napa, with the exception of three wonderful years living in Hawaii.
In 1983, Davey met her second husband, John. The couple retired to Bend, Oregon, in 1989. Married 32 years, they enjoyed traveling, cross country skiing, camping, spending time with their beloved dogs, Tara and Joy, and enjoying as much time as possible with their family.
Davey is survived by her husband, John; son, Brian; and daughter, Cheryl; stepchildren, June, Nancy, Patricia, Susan and David; grandchildren, Patrick, Brittany, Michelle, Mitchell, Matthew, Erin, Alexander and Christopher; stepgrandchildren, Patrick, Brian, Jacob, Julie, Melissa and Georgeanna. She is also survived by eight stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ethel; her brother, Martin; son, Ralph; and grandson, Tyler.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Central Oregon or St. Charles Hospice of Bend.
