MaryLea Harris is Jubelale artist this year

The 30th rendition of the Deschutes Brewery Jubelale label, created every year by a guest artist, for the first time will feature a series of illustrations, the Bend-based brewery announced Tuesday.

Bend artist MaryLea Harris created four snowflake paintings for the project, each different from the other. She used a paint and multimedia process that involved painting each snowflake on a layered surface that included plaster, acrylic paint, old Jubelale posters and articles about the brewery.

The brewery selects a different artist each year to create the label for Jubelale, a seasonal beer on sale this month.

Harris will be on hand Oct. 16 at the Deschutes Brewery and Public House to sign posters, according to the brewery.
