Ron and Anita (Knaack) Kutella celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 22.

The couple were married in 1967 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, at St. Stephen Church. They later moved to Portland in 1968. They met at University of Wisconsin — Stevens Point, where Ron was the president of his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and Anita was the president of her sorority, Alpha Phi. They have Douglas (and Beth), of Lake Oswego, and three grandchildren.

Ron is retired from the insurance business, where he was the vice chairman of Marsh Inc. He is currently a partner of Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. He enjoys hunting, fishing, cars and motorcycles. Anita is a retired teacher and has a jewelry-design business. She enjoys playing cards, designing jewelry and hiking with their three German shorthaired pointers. Together they like visiting their grandchildren.

They have lived in Bend for 22 years.
