Details: The McDonald’s on NE U.S. Highway 20 in Bend is being remodeled with a projected completion date of Dec. 18.

The drive-through will be open for the duration of construction, restaurant supervisor Juan Guzman said. The drive-through hours are 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., daily.

Executives from McDonald’s of Bend, Sisters and La Pine, co-owned by Nanette and Mick Bittler, could not be reached for more information about the project. A crew was at work Friday on the interior of the building, which includes a PlayPlace.

The project has an estimated construction value of $200,000, according to a city of Bend building permit. The permit was issued Nov. 13. The contractor, Market Contractors LTD, is a national firm specializing in tenant improvements retail, health clinics, restaurants and banks. A Market Contractors representative could not be reached for comment.

McDonald’s of Bend, Sisters and La Pine has remodeled or rebuilt at least two other stores in Bend in the last decade. In 2011, the local McDonald’s franchisee tore down and rebuilt the NE Third Street store, which was Bend’s first McDonald’s. In 2012, the company remodeled the drive-through of the McDonald’s at SE Third Street and Reed Market Road.
