Editor’s note: Southern rapper Yelawolf’s Friday show at Midtown Ballroom has been canceled, according to a BendTicket post on Facebook.

Southern rapper Yelawolf hit mainstream audiences in 2010 with his mixtape “Trunk Muzik,” recorded with producer WLPWR. Collaborations with Big Boi, Bun B and Eminem (Yelawolf is signed to Eminem’s Shady Records) followed, along with an acclaimed debut album “Radioactive” in 2011. But the rapper born Michael Wayne Atha wouldn’t unleash his full artistic vision until 2015’s “Love Story,” a street-smart, hook-heavy mix of hip-hop, country and rock. Since October of last year, Yelawolf has released five singles from upcoming album “Trial By Fire” in the genre-busting mold of “Love Story,” with guests including Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and rapper Juicy J (the cowpunk riff “Punk”) and controversial rap-rocker Kid Rock (“Get Mine”). The album is slated for release Friday, the same day Yelawolf plays Midtown Ballroom with support from Mikey Mike, Big Henri and Cookuo Boss.
