March 11, 1941 – December 4, 2017

On December 4, 2017, Carolyn went to be with the Lord peacefully in her home. She lived a full and wonderful life. Her smile and laughter would always brighten a room and bring comfort. She was known for her love of cowboy action shooting and horses. She enjoyed sharing her “horse sense” with youth as a Deschutes County 4-H Horse Leader.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Condray; mother, Rose Marie Condray, both of Rogue River, Oregon; and granddaughter Amelia Rose. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, John Merritt; her 3 boys, David Lewis (Tracy), Michael Lewis (Leigh), and Roderick Lewis; her 7 grandchildren, Brian, Emma, Wyatt, Olivia, Travis, Abigail and Karis; and her great-grandson, Carter.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 16, 2017, at 3:00 pm in the Niswonger-Reynolds Chapel with a reception to immediately follow. Flowers may be sent to the chapel or donations to the Deschutes County 4-H Association (deschutes4h.com/donate.php) or the St. Charles Hospice (stcharlesfoundation.org/donate), please designate “Hospice” in her memory.
