Peng’s Hunan Chinese Restaurant: 71 — Raw eggs over vegetables, shrimp in container with meat, raw chicken over cooked items in the freezer. Observed used gloves hanging to dry. Sprouts, broth and canned goods that are opened. Employees washing hands in dish sink. Cooked items not dated. No towels at hand sink. Food in walk-in stored on the floor. Walk-in shelves dirty, high splash area near mixer. Bottom of reach-in needs cleaning.
Silver Moon Brewing: 81 — Raw shell eggs are stored over tortillas in the walk-in cooler. Par-cooked chicken and steak stored next to cheese and vegetables. No Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points plan in place for sous vide food production, which is partially cooking food then vacuum-sealing and chilling it. No handwashing station available at outside smoker. No soap available at brewery hand sink. No paper towels provided at bar hand sink (using cloth towels).
Goody’s (downtown): 87 — Half-and-half is 58 degrees in prep line inset. Expired half-and-half in the refrigerator. Cookie dough is date-marked at factory before freezing. Date mark upon thawing and use within 7 days. Kitchen tube lights do not have any protection.
Brother Jon’s Public House (Galveston): 88 — Water supply does not lock open; difficult to wash. No paper towels available. Soup is 60 degrees in large plastic, covered container. Sanitizer test strips are water damaged and not usable. No soap available at kitchen hand sink and blocked by food containers. A covered receptacle is not provided in female restroom.
Health inspections were conducted by the Deschutes County Public Health Department and reflect violations observed at the time of inspection. The violations can range from general sanitation and maintenance to violations that have a direct connection to preventing foodborne illness to violations in procedures by maintenance that control the risk of foodborne illness, such as documentation, labeling, personnel training and equipment. During and after inspections, food vendors were allowed to correct violations to improve scores prior to a follow-up inspection.
