The owner of Eagle Crest Resort is looking to sell the golf course and lodge west of Redmond, an executive said on Tuesday.

“We had a broker involved for a period of time, and we’ve had several groups come in and take a look,” said Scott Pickert, senior vice president with Northview Hotel Group. “There’s not a definite sale at this point.”

Eagle Crest is one of three Oregon resorts, along with Brasada Ranch northwest of Bend and Running Y Ranch near Klamath Falls, that Northview acquired in November 2010 from Jeld-Wen, the window and door manufacturer formerly headquartered in Klamath Falls. Northview’s financial partner in the deal was the private-equity firm Oaktree Capital Management LP.

The effort to sell Eagle Crest is driven by Northview’s financial partner, Pickert said.

“We love the property; it’s performing well,” he said. “It’s more economic for our capital partner.”

Northview is not looking to sell Brasada, Pickert said. “We feel there’s a great deal of long-term value in the Brasada resort,” he said.

Pickert would not discuss the asking price for Eagle Crest. Running Y is listed on Northview’s website as a past portfolio property, sold in September 2014.

Eagle Crest is a residential community and destination resort that was developed in the 1980s on 1,700 acres along the Deschutes River. The resort includes a 100-room hotel, meeting space, three golf courses, two clubhouses and three athletic centers. In 2012, Northview invested $3 million in renovations and added the Aerie Cafe, according to the archives of the Redmond Spokesman. Also that year, the lodge was branded as a Holiday Inn Resort.

In addition to operating the resort, Northview manages a portfolio of vacation-rental properties at Eagle Crest, Pickert said.

Northview has its headquarters in Westport, Connecticut, and San Francisco, but Pickert is based in Bend.

Earlier this year, Northview sold the water and wastewater utilities that serve about 1,600 customers at Eagle Crest to a Texas utility, according to The Bulletin archives. The Texas company, SouthWest Water Co., also bought a utility serving Running Y.
