Old Towne Pizza Company: 76 — Beer bottle in ice machine. Parmesan cheese, requiring refrigeration per packaging, is left out at room temperature all day. No chlorine sanitizer in dish machine. Bread sticks at order register have no sneeze guard protection. Pizza pan covering back handsink. Roll of non-perforated paper towels on counter at front handsink with no dispenser
The Sparrow Bakery Northwest: 84 — After cracking multiple shell eggs, employee opened reach-in cooler and retrieved cold sandwich for prep, without washing hands. Croissants with baked peppers, ham and moist cream cheese are on shelf at room temperature. Multiple baked goods on front counter with no protection from browsing consumers. Thermometer in reach-in cooler is broken. Dirty cellphone is on table/food prep surface.
Central Oregon Community College Elevation Restaurant: 84 — Raw shrimp is stored over lettuce and pumpkin pie. Expired heavy whipped cream, mascarpone and cooked pork in the refrigerator. Roasted vegetable soup is 54 degrees in large covered plastic container. Bar handsink does not have a dispenser for non-perforated roll of paper towels. Also, paper towel dispenser is empty at kitchen handsink. Bar has carpeted floor which is not easily cleanable.
Fairfield Inn and Suite: 85 — Raw or ready-to-eat food is not properly protected from cross-contamination. Packages (opened and sealed) of Canadian bacon stored on top shelf of refrigerator — this is a raw product per the package and must be kept below ready-to-eat foods. Hardboiled eggs, today at an internal temperature of 58, are held over for reservice the next day. Canadian bacon is cooked by time only in the microwave oven. No final cooking temperature of this raw food is checked.
Sodexo at Central Oregon Community College (Dining Hall): 86 — Self-serve Parmesan shaker is not refrigerated. Individual cream cheese packets are at 50 degrees in display case. Partially eaten plate of food in kitchen hot box. Croutons and sunflower seeds are in open containers with no sneeze guard protection. Reach-in cooler at coffee stand is not working. Sanitizer bucket at coffee stand does not have sanitizing solution.
Health inspections were conducted by the Deschutes County Public Health Department and reflect violations observed at the time of inspection. The violations can range from general sanitation and maintenance to violations that have a direct connection to preventing foodborne illness to violations in procedures by maintenance that control the risk of foodborne illness, such as documentation, labeling, personnel training and equipment. During and after inspections, food vendors were allowed to correct violations to improve scores prior to a follow-up inspection.
