Beginning Thursday, the Oregon Liquor Control Commission will begin checking to ensure that employees at licensed recreational marijuana businesses have valid marijuana worker permits, the commission announced in a news release Wednesday.
OLCC recreational marijuana licensees are required to employ only individuals who hold a valid permit, with the exception of OLCC-licensed labs or employees whose duties do not include the recording, securing or handling of marijuana.
A licensee employing anyone without a valid permit will be cited for a Class 3 violation, according to the release. A first-time violation can result in a 10-day license suspension or $1,650 fine.
